COOLEST THING OF THE DAY: Cardboard Camera

If someone told you they had a carboard camera you would probably look at them like they had two heads. But believe it our not they do exist. American artist Keil Johnson has created cameras that are made from cardboard. Johnson's collection includes SLRs, Polaroid cameras, point and shoot cameras, twin lens cameras and the retro 8mm cameras.

Creator Johnson is mostly known for his work as a sculptor and painter but his eco friendly work with cardboard has earned him numerous awards and honors along with appearing in several important public and private collections.

Kanye West & Jay-Z New Album “Watch The Throne”

A pair of rap superstars are joining forces for a collaboration album. Kanye West took to his twitter account last Friday to announce that he will be dropping a new record with Jay-Z (August 30). Kanye writes, quote,

“Me and jay bout to drop a 5 song album called ‘Watch the Throne.’”

A release date for “Watch the Throne” has not been announced. News of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s new album comes just days after Kanye revealed that he will be releasing a new song every Friday until Christmas. The “Power” rapper is also working on his fifth studio album, which is due in stores in November

Lil Wayne Will Drop “Tha Carter IV” The Day Of His Release

Rap superstar Lil Wayne isn’t planning on leaving New York’s Rikers Island quietly. “Weezy’s” Young Money labelmate Mack Maine tells MTV News that Wayne’s highly-anticipated album “Tha Carter Four” will arrive on November 5th, the day he’s scheduled to be released. Mack Maine remarks, quote, “‘Tha Carter Four’ plans we had and still have are to put ‘Tha Carter Four’ out the day he comes out [of prison].” Mack Maine says Cash Money’s Bryan “Baby” Williams and Lil Wayne’s manager — Cortez Bryant — helped him select songs for the album. Mack Maine then called Lil Wayne to get his approval on the songs they chose. Along with a new album, Lil Wayne is also planning to take the stage at Madison Square Garden the night of his release. Mack Maine states, quote, “He’s gonna have a show, then go to the studio,” adding, quote, “We’re gonna party like when Frank came home in ‘King of New York.’ We’re gonna go crazy.”

Beyonce, Who Is Your Real Manager, Mathew Or Jay Z??

The rumors have been flying around that Jiggaman will now be the manager of his wife Beyonce. Well, contrary to popular belief, media, and blogs , Beyonce did not fire her father Mathew Knowles and hire her husband. According to Necole Bitchie.

Rumors have been circulating the internet that she would soon join her former band mates Kelly Rowland & Michelle Williams by kicking Matthew to the crib and switching labels. Matthew released this statement today via his label Music World Entertainment:

“Contrary to false rumors online, Beyoncé and her manager Mathew Knowles unequivocally have had and continue to have a close personal and business relationship. Mathew Knowles is the sole and exclusive manager of Beyoncé.”

T.I. & Tiny Arrested

Tip and Tiny were arrested last night. TMZ has learned they were arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance. More Pic’s Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over the multi-platinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:30PM. Deputies say they smelled marijuana, and after searching the vehicle they arrested T.I. and Tameka. T.I. and Tameka are in custody right now. Bail amount is $10,000.

Brandy Sued AGAIN For $6 Million

I’m sure R&B singer Brandy can’t wait to put the days of being sued behind her. House musician Marc Mysterio of Canada and his record company Joia Records is suing the singer for $6 million for breach of contract (August 21). Brandy backed out of a deal to appear on Marc’s lead single “Shout it Out” from his upcoming album Redemption. Papers were filed this morning in a Los Angeles Superior Court and the attorney for Marc believes they will come out on the winning end of the case because there was a contract, not to mention conversations between the two that were recorded by VH1 cameras. Marc received Brandy’s contact through producer Timbaland’s people Sam Fox, which is how they met and discussed the collaboration. After a check for $10,000 was sent and confirmed by Brandy’s camp, her manager Ryan reneged on the deal and refused to send over the vocals. Swizz Beatz Signs New Deal For Second Album

Hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz has signed a new deal. Rap-Up.com is reporting that Beatz has inked an agreement to release his second, yet-untitled album with Everest Entertainment and Atlantic/Warner Records. The album is due this fall, and expected to include appearances from Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, John Legend, Drake and T.I.. Beatz says he’s excited about his new deal and upcoming release stating, quote, “Both Everest and the Atlantic/Warner team have been great and I’m looking forward to sharing this project with true fans of good music.” Swizz Beatz — who just married Grammy winner Alicia Keys on July 31st — says he plans to make 2010 a big year. He remarks, quote, “2010 I feel is my graduation year and so I want to graduate my brand, my image, my music, my sound, my audience, my reach – everything, so my album is going to reflect that.” Swizz Beatz’s first album, 2007’s “One Man Band Man,” reached number one on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
